They are hardworking, down-to-earth and love hearty home cooking. During his thirteen years as a professional soccer player, Arne had to forgo the heavy home cooking as much as possible. However, this was not particularly difficult for him, because discipline is one of the values that distinguish him. And what about diligence and down-to-earthness? The native of East Westphalia always knew what he wanted and began to set priorities early on. While others partied on the weekends, Arne only ever played soccer. On the other hand, he doesn't like to talk about being down-to-earth - that's for others to judge.
After 20 years in Bad Oeynhausen in East Westphalia and his first professional stint with Arminia Bielefeld, Arne moved to the capital city of Berlin. 9 years at Hertha BSC followed, 6 of which he captained the team on the pitch. VfL Wolfsburg and Chicago Fire were his last two stops. 82 times in the jersey of the German national football team, 2 World and 2 European Championships are in the end in his vita.
In 2013, Arne had to end his career due to a severe herniated disc in the lumbar region. The first few years after his career ended, he deliberately took a lot of time to travel and try out different professional fields. It was important to him to open himself up to new things and experiences in the process. After passing his A-license as a soccer coach in 2014, the East Westphalian first spent a year coaching the German U18 national team alongside Guido Streichsbier. This was followed by jobs as an international TV expert for Fox Sports (US sports channel), as well as CCTV and Hansports (China). The topic of sports marketing also caught Arne's interest and so he worked for a year alongside the renowned Hamburg advertising agency JungvonMatt Sports. After what he sees as an important discovery phase, Arne has now focused on 4 main areas. The development of his foundation, mentoring, working as a TV football expert and working as a youth coach.
